Florinda Ciucio (Antwerp, 1993) is a visual artist and film-
maker from Belgium. She holds a Master’s degree in Film
Directing from LUCA School of Arts Brussels. After directing
short documentaries, she expanded her practice into video
art and installation.
Working with moving image, CGI, archival material, photo-
graphy and sound, her practice explores how technology and
images shape our perception of reality. Her works often fo-
cus on landscapes, memory and digital media, questioning
the distance between what is real and what is constructed,
projected or imagined.
Her work has been supported by the Flanders Department
of Culture and Arts, VOCATIO and the Flanders Film Fund,
and developed through residencies at Viafarini Milan and
Cité Internationale des Arts Paris. Her work has been pre-
sented internationally, including at LOOP Barcelona, Noor-
derlicht Biennale, Be-Part Kortrijk, Castel Belasi and Espace
Vanderborght Brussels.

DESCRIPTION
‘GOALS’ is a documentary film for children about 2 best friends, Charlotte and Husna, living together in the neighbourhood ‘Luchtbal’ in Antwerp. The film was commissioned through the initiative ‘Ket&Doc’ by VAF, KETNET and JEF Film festival, to encourage the production of children’s author’s documentaries .
Husna and Charlotte play football together in a team at the local club, both dream of a professional football career. But Charlotte’s talent stands out, soon she is off to professional sports boardingschool and has to miss her best friend on the field. The film follows Husna and Charlotte’s last summer playing together, documenting how their friendship will take a new dimension.
